Explorers is for children aged to 5 7 years old and Investigators is for children aged 8–13 years-old. These programmes run concurrently with the adult teaching time on Sunday mornings during the school term. The aim is to develop friendships, confidence, courage, community, potential, and resilience through fun activities and life stories based on Christian values and themes and stories taken from the Bible. This group is for young people aged 11–14. Contact Doug: doug@churchoningestre.org.nz for more information.

Youth Ministry – Fortify

For teenagers in Years 9-13. Year 8s are invited to join us during term 4.

Fortify is a fun-loving youth group, led by people who are passionate about Jesus and teenagers, with a core purpose of bringing the two together. We aim to run fun activities to build a community where anyone can belong, and to explore faith in action. A typical Friday night will blend all 3 of these concepts in some wild and whacky ways!

Currently we are teaming up with St Andrews at 42 Glasgow Street from 7pm to around 9:30pm.

Philippians 2:4 "Don't look out only for your own interests but take an interest in others too." Our aim is to be a youth group that looks out for and supports each other.

Local Mission Partner – City Mission Food Bank Whanganui

We are also partnering with City Mission Food Bank Whanganui to assist with meeting the basic needs of warmth, food, friendship, and hope to individuals and families who would otherwise go without. Food parcels are provided as emergency provisions, and as a church we gather a weekly donation as part of our tithes and offerings that are taken to City Mission every Monday. We also support the team through prayer and pastoral care when required.
